  • 1882 को लाहौर में पंजाब विश्वविद्यालय की स्थापना। बंटवारे के बाद इसके दो हिस्से कर दिए गए थे और भारत के विश्वविद्यालय को शुरू में ‘पूर्वी पंजाब विश्वविद्यालय’ (ईपीयू) कहा जाता था, जो शिमला में स्थित था।

  • 1944 को जर्मन फील्ड मार्शल एरविन रोमेल ने एडोल्फ हिटलर की हत्या की साजिश में नाम आने के बाद जहर खाकर जान दी।

  • 1964 को मार्टिन लूथर किंग जूनियर को अहिंसा के सिद्धांत का पालन करते हुए रंगभेद के खिलाफ संघर्ष के लिए नोबेल शांति पुरस्कार से नवाजा गया।

  • 1994को फलस्तीन के नेता यासिर अराफात को इज़राइल के प्रधानमंत्री यित्जक राबिन और विदेश मंत्री शिमोन पेरेज के साथ नोबेल शांति पुरस्कार के लिए चुना गया।

  • 2010 को राजधानी दिल्ली में तीन अक्टूबर को शुरू हुए 19वें राष्ट्रमंडल खेलों का समापन।

  • 2014 को न्यूजीलैंड के क्रिकेटर एवं पूर्व कप्तान जॉन रीड का निधन।

  • 2021को ताइवान में एक इमारत में आग लगने से 46 लोगों की मौत|
