नई दिल्ली रेलवे स्टेशन से मेट्रो स्टेशन पहुंचने के लिए यात्रियों को सड़क पार करने की जरूरत नहीं है. यात्रियों की सुविधा के लिए नई दिल्ली रेलवे स्टेशन को मेट्रो स्टेशन से जोड़ने वाला स्काईवॉक आम जनता के लिए खोल दिया गया है. जहां बीते कुछ दिनों से आवाजाही जारी है. बता दे ऐसी ही सुविधा आनंद विहार रेलवे स्टेशन पर भी मौजूद है और अब नई दिल्ली रेलवे स्टेशन को स्काईवॉक के जरिए मेट्रो से जोड़ दिया गया है. जिससे एयरपोर्ट मेट्रो लाइन से रेलवे स्टेशन पहुंचने वाले यात्रियों को काफी आसानी होगी.
स्काई वॉक नई दिल्ली मेट्रो स्टेशन के अजमेरी गेट साइड और उसके पास यलो लाइन मेट्रो पर स्थित नई दिल्ली मेट्रो स्टेशन के साथ एयरपोर्ट लाइन के बीच संपर्क स्थापित करती है. बता दे स्काईवॉक की लंबाई 242 मीटर है जिस पर आम लोगों की आवाजाही 5 मार्च शनिवार से शुरू कर दी गई हैं जिससे दिल्ली मेट्रो स्टेशन के अजमेरी गेट की ओर यातायात प्रबंधन में काफी मदद मिलेगी.
दिल्ली मेट्रो और उत्तरी रेलवे ने किया स्काईवॉक का निर्माण
दिल्ली मेट्रो रेल निगम के एक प्रवक्ता ने बताया है कि इस स्काईवॉक का निर्माण दिल्ली मेट्रो रेलवे निगम ने उत्तरी रेलवे के साथ मिलकर किया है और यह स्काईवॉक नई दिल्ली रेलवे स्टेशन के अजमेरी गेट की तरफ वाले हिस्से के पास येलो लाइन मेट्रो स्टेशन और एयरपोर्ट लाइन को जोड़ती है.
कोरोना की वजह से निर्माण में हुई देरी
दिल्ली मेट्रो के अधिकारी के मुताबिक नई दिल्ली रेलवे स्टेशन में इस अनोखी स्काईवॉक का निर्माण प्रमुख इंजीनियर की तैनाती में किया गया है. हालांकि कोरोनावायरस की वजह से इसके निर्माण कार्य में देरी हुई है.
फुटओवर ब्रिज
नवनिर्मित स्काईवॉक रेलवे स्टेशन के भीतर ही फुट ओवर ब्रिज का भी विस्तार हो रहा है यह फुट ओवर ब्रिज रेलवे प्लेटफार्म के अजमेरी गेट हिस्से को दिल्ली से जुड़ेगा.
