बिटानी देवी पांचवी पास हैं। वह निगोहां के मीरकनगर गांव की रहने वाली हैं। आज से 37 साल पहले बिटानी देवी को शादी के बाद दहेज में एक भैंस मिली थी। इसे लेकर साल 1985 में उन्होंने अपना डेयरी का काम शुरू किया। उनकी इस कोशिश में परिवार ने भी जमकर मदद की और इसका नतीजा ये हुआ कि बिटानी देवी का व्यापार आज ऐसे मुकाम पर पहुंच गया है, जहां वह दो दर्जन से ज्यादा महिलाओं को रोजगार दे रही हैं।
फिलहाल, उनके पास 16 गायें और 11 भैसें हैं, जिनसे हर दिन 100 से 120 लीटर दूध मिलता है। इन मवेशियों को खिलाने-पिलाने से लेकर उनका दूध दूहने तक का सारा काम बिटानी देवी अकेले ही करती हैं। बिटानी देवी बताती हैं कि उनके शिक्षक पति अब नौकरी से रिटायर हो गए हैं लेकिन उनकी दिलचस्पी इन कामों में नहीं है। वह उनका हौसला बढ़ाते हैं। बिटानी देवी दूध पराग कंपनी को दूध बेचती हैं। उनके जरिए आसपास की महिलाएं और पुरुष भी डेयरी कारोबार से जुड़कर लाभ कमाने लगे हैं।
यह बिटानी देवी की मेहनत का ही फल है कि उन्हें साल 2005 से लगातार लखनऊ में सबसे ज्यादा दुग्ध उत्पादन के लिए गोकुल पुरस्कार मिल रहा है। बिटानी देवी का सपना है कि एक दिन वह पूरे उत्तर प्रदेश में सबसे ज्यादा दुग्ध उत्पादन करने वाली महिला के तौर पर जानी जाएं। प्रदेश स्तर पर मिलने वाले पुरस्कारों में वह कई बार टॉप-5 में रही हैं|
