  • यहाँ के प्रमुख उद्योग हिंदुस्तान मशीन टूल्स (h m t) पिंजौर, भुपेन्द्रा सीमेंट का कारखाना, भारत इलेक्ट्रिकल्स आदि है। जिले के पिंजोर में स्थित हिंदुस्तान मशीन टूल्स में ट्रैक्टर के कलपुर्जो का निर्माण होता है।

पंचकूला के मंदिर

कालका देवी मंदिर

  • काली माता मंदिर राष्ट्रीय राजमार्ग 22 पर स्थित है। यह कालका शहर से होकर गुज़रता है। यह प्राचीन मंदिर काली देवी को समर्पित है और हिंदू तीर्थ स्थल के रूप में प्रसिद्ध है। नवरात्रि उत्सव के दौरान यहाँ भारी भीड़ होती है। इस क्षेत्र के हिंदू तीर्थ स्थानों में यह बहुत लोकप्रिय है। इस मंदिर का केवल धार्मिक महत्व ही नहीं है बल्कि पौराणिक महत्व भी है। यह मंदिर महाभारत काल से संबंधित है। ऐसा माना जाता है कि पांडवों ने उनके अज्ञातवास के दौरान इस मंदिर का निर्माण किया था। भगवान शिव की पूजा पूरे पंचकूला में लोकप्रिय है। भगवान शिव के साथ देवी शक्ति की भी पूजा होती है। इस देवी को दुर्गा, कालिका, चंडी, नैना, मनसा, शारदा, अंबिका, काली और भवानी आदि नामों से भी पुकारा जाता है। कालका हिमाचल प्रदेश के प्रवेशद्वारों में से एक है। यह चंडीगढ़ से 14 कि.मी. दूर है तथा कालका-शिमला रेलवे का अंतिम बिंदु है। इस शहर का नाम इस काली देवी मंदिर से ही लिया गया है। 103 सुरंगों से होकर गुजरने वाली रेल यात्रा एक आरामदायक और रोमांचक विकल्प है।

मनसा देवी मंदिर

  • यह मंदिर Panchkula में स्थित है। यह मंदिर हरियाणा के प्रसिद्ध मंदिरों में से एक है। यह 1815 ई० में मनीमाजरा के शासक महाराजा गोपालसिंह ने बनवाया था। प्रतिवर्ष चैत्र व अशिवनी में शारदीय नवरात्रा के दिनों में यहाँ मेला लगता है। यहाँ हरियाणा सरकार द्वारा यात्रिका जिसे जटायु कहा जाता है, आयोजित की जाती है।
  • मन्दिर की देखभाल हेतु श्री माता मनसा देवी श्राइन एक्ट 1991 के अधीन मुख्यमंत्री की अध्यक्षता में श्री माता मनसा देवी श्राइन बोर्ड का Panchkula में गठन किया गया है।
  • इस मंदिर के पास ही पटियाला मन्दिर भी स्थित है, जो महाराजा पटियाला सिख करम सिंह ने 1840 में बनवाया था।

भीमा देवी मंदिर

  • यह पिंजौर में पिंजौर उद्यान के निकट स्थित है। यह मंदिर भी हरियाणा के प्रमुख मंदिरोंमें गिना जाता है। यह पंचायतन शैली का शिव मंदिर है। नसीरुद्दीन महमूद ने इस मंदिर को 1254 ई० में नष्ट कर दिया था। इनकी शैली भुवनेश्वर व खजुराहो के मंदिरों से मिलती है। यह संरक्षित स्मारक है।

 

चंडी मन्दिर कॅटोनमेंट

  • यह Panchkula के पास स्थित है। यह भारतीय थल सेना की पश्चिमी कमान का मुख्यालय है।

  • खौल ही रैतान यह पंचकूला जिले में स्थित है। यहां पर चीतल, जंगली बिल्ली, सियार, जंगली बंदर पाए जाते हैं। (10.93 वर्ग किलोमीटर)

पंचकूला के गुरूद्वारे

  • गुरुद्वारा नाडा साहिब : यह घग्घर नदी के किनारे Panchkula में स्थित है। गुरु गोविंद सिंह भागनी की लड़ाई में विजय के बाद अपनी सेना के साथ यहाँ ठहरे थे। गुरु गोविंद सिंह के अनुयायी नाडु शाह लुबाना ने उनका स्वागत किया व उनकी सेवा की थी हर महीने की पूर्णमासी को श्रद्धालु यहां आते है।

पंचकूला में पर्वत श्रृंखला

  • ब्रह्मा हिमालय का पहाड़ी क्षेत्र इसमे शिवालिक श्रेणियां फैली है। जिले की मोरनी पहाड़ियों में स्थित करोह 1514 मीटर ऊंचा स्थान राज्य का सर्वोच्च ऊंचा स्थान है। यहाँ चीड़ देवदार वृक्ष पाए जाते है।
  • कैक्टस गार्डन यह एशिया का सबसे बड़ा कैक्टस गार्डन है। इसके मुख्य आर्टिटेक्ट डॉ० जे० एस० सरकारिया है। मार्च माह में यहाँ प्रतिवर्ष केक्टस शो आयोजित किया जाता हैं |

इतिहास

  • पंचकूला जिले का गठन 15 अगस्त 1995 को जिले की पंचकूला और कालका तहसीलों को मिलाकर किया गया था
  • पंचकूला का यह नाम यहाँ की पांच सिंचाई नहरों के कारण पड़ा जिसमें घग्घर से पानी आता है। यह पानी नाडा साहिब से मनसा देवी तक वितरित होता है।
  • Panchkula जिले का धरातल पहाड़ी है। जिले में ऐसे बहुत से स्थान स्थित है, जोकि महाभारत काल में पांडवों से जुड़े हुए है। पंचकूला जिले की जलवायु उष्णकटिबंधीय महाद्वीपीय ठंडी, गर्म है, यहाँ की मूल नदी घग्घर है। इसे पहले सरस्वती नदी के नाम से जाना जाता था।
  • पंचकूला अम्बाला-कालका राष्ट्रीय राजमार्ग पर स्थित है, यह नगर आधुनिक सेक्टरों में विभाजित है। इसमें दो औद्योगिक क्षेत्र तथा एक कैक्टस उद्यान है। पंचकूला में उष्ण कटिबंधीय शुष्क पर्णपाती वन पाए जाते है। Panchkula जिला हिमालय बाउंड्री फॉल्ट जॉन में होने के कारण भूकम्पीय प्रभावित क्षेत्र है। Panchkula की प्रति व्यक्ति आय हरियाणा के अन्य जिलों की तुलना में सर्वाधिक है।

पंचकूला से संबंधित अन्य जानकारी

पिंजौर

  • पिंजौर एक प्राचीन धार्मिक एवं ऐतिहासिक स्थल है। पिंजौर का सम्बद्ध पांडवो से भी रहा है, वनवास के दौरान हिमालय पर जाते हुए कुछ समय के लिए पांडवों ने यहाँ निवास कि यहाँ निवास किया था। उस समय इसका नाम पँचपुरा था, जो बाद में पिंजौर पड़ा। 
  • पिंजौर मुगल गार्डन से भी प्रसिद्ध है। यह हरियाणा के प्रमुख स्थलों में से एक है। यह उतरी भारत का पुराना एवं महत्वपूर्ण गार्डन है। इसे 17वी शताब्दी में औरंगजेब के एक वास्तुविद फिदाई खां ने बनाया था। फिदाई खां के चले जाने के बाद सिरमौर के राजा ने इस पर अधिकार कर लिया। 1775 में इसे पटियाला के महाराजा अमरसिंह ने सिरमौर के राजा से खरीद लिया था। 
  • हरियाणा सरकार ने इसका कायाकल्प कर दिया है तथा इसका नाम पटियाला रियासत के महाराजा यादवेंद्र के नाम पर यादवेंद्र उधान रखा है। यहाँ भीमा देवी का मंदिर भी है, जिसका सम्बन्द्ध पांडवों से है।
  • पिंजोर शहर में इसके बाग बगीचों की पुरानी विरासत को मनाने के लिए सन 2006 से पिंजोर विरासत उत्सव आयोजित किया जाता है। 
  • पिंजौर गिद्ध संरक्षण एवं प्रजनन केंद्र एशिया का प्रथम गिद्ध संरक्षण केंद्र है। यहाँ विश्व के सर्वाधिक गिद्ध पाये जाते है।

मोरनी हिल्स

  • यह हिमालय की शिवालिक श्रेणी में स्थित है। यहाँ मोरनी हिल्स गांव समुद्र तल से 1220 मीटर ऊंचाई पर स्थित है। यहाँ खण्डहर रूप में एक पुराना किला स्थित है। यहाँ स्थित दो झीलें हिल्स को दो भागों में बांटती है। इसे पहाड़ियों की रानी के नाम से भी जाना जाता है।
